Learn to Sail

Ford Yacht Club is partnered with Sail GI, a 501c3, that encourages and helps teach sailing and safe boating to members of FYC and Veterans and Active Duty members of the US Military.

Classes are offered during the Summer months and include classroom and on the water activities.

FYC members are able to sign up for classes and instruction.
Non-FYC members that are US Military Veterans, Active Duty US Military, or First Responders are also able to sign up
A limited number of scholarships are available for US Military Veterans, Active Duty US Military, or First Responders

Olson 25 Keelboat

We have an Olson 25 that we teach most of our classes on . This is a keelboat that is easy to sail, responsive, and stable.

We have 2 Lightning Sailboats. This is a traditional boat at Ford Yacht Club and great way to get into racing or just day sailing.

Coming Soon - We will have a Force 5 sailboat. This is another great day sailor for one person to go sailing on. It is also a great boat to race.
